Crews from Springfield Road and Cadogan stations used a hosereel jet and a covering jet to deal with a fire in a single storey building used as changing rooms etc. in Glen Road Heights in the Andersonstown area of West Belfast on Friday 26th December. There appeared to be several seats of fire and the scene was handed over to PSNI for investigation.

There was an Aircraft Emergency in Belfast on Tuesday 16th December. Flybe Flight BE130 enroute from Glasgow to Belfast City Airport declared and Emergency over the North Atlantic afetr and engine caught fire.
 
The flight was rerouted to Belfast International where it made an Emergency Landing and was met by Fire and Rescue Crews. 76 Passengers and 4 Crew disembarked the aircraft and are currently being assessed by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service

Fire Crews from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service dealt with a fire on a ship carrying animal feed, which docked at Warrenpoint Harbour on Tuesday 4th November 2014. 6 Fire Appliances from Newry, Kilkeel, Warrenpoint and Rathrifland attended the incident, along with a Hydraulic Platform and a Command Support Unit. We have also deployed our Marine Response Team of highly trained personnel with specialist skills in dealing with ship fires from Whitla Fire Station in Belfast.


There are 2 seats of fire in the animal feed, which Fire Crews are dealing with.There is no significant risk to life or the environment. We are providing a specialist operational response and we continue to work closely with the Port Authority and ship’s Captain. The incident was declared Under Control just after 15:00hrs

300 Year old Tatched Cottage was destroyed in an early morning blaze on Sunday 9th February. Fire Crews from Cavan Town & Belturbet Fire Stations where alerted to the blaze at 6am. In attentendance were RSFO, Gardai & HSE Ambulance Service. The 80 year old accupant was rescued unhurt by his nephew from the blaze

The scene for Little Donegall Street, Belfast on Sunday 27th October at an unknown incident in which 2 appliances from Whitla Fire Station attended

Belfast 18th October 2013








Six pumping appliances, two aerial machines and a command support unit were among resources which attended a major fire in a four storey shop (B&M Bargains) in Rosemary Street in Belfast City Centre on Friday 18th October. Six jets, two ground monitors, a hosereel jet and an aerial jet were used to combat the fire.

Crews were in attendance just after 0500 hrs and remained at the scene throughout the day to ensure that the fire was extinguished and that there was no spread to adjacent buildings. Thermal imaging cameras were also used to assess the heat of the surrounding properties.

Appliances from Central Fire Station attended a report of a shop on fire in Botanic Avenue in the centre of Belfast on Wednesday 4th September and immediately requested extra resources as a large quantity of smoke was issuing from the rear of the building. An aerial machine was also in use to extinguish the fire in the storeroom. Traffic was disrupted for a period of time due to the quantity of smoke in the area.

Police arrested two juveniles on suspicion of arson following a fire at a derelict building in the Diamond area of Ahoghill at around 2.45pm on Tuesday, August 13. The pair were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
