Cork City 4th January 2025
6 units of Cork City Fire Brigade were called to deal with a commercial fire in Glanmire, Cork City on Saturday 4th January. The fire is reported to have destroyed five trucks and a car at a waste recycling plant in the Sarsfoeld Industrial Estate.

The spire of St Mary’s Church in Ruan Co Clare was destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning early Sunday morning 22nd December. It was the quick response of locals, who raised the alarm, and the prompt attendance of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service, that prevented this being a far more serious incident. Thoughts also with the owners of a home which was destroyed by fire overnight also near Ruan. Gort Fire & Rescue also attended in Ruan in support of their Clare colleagues. ~Pat Flynn County Clare 5th December 2024

Fire crews from Ennis (CE11) Ennis Station, National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí attended vehicles on fire at a property (previously destroyed by fire) at Knockanean, Ennis, County Clare on Tuesday 9th July. Ballyvolane seen in attendance at substantial tree blocking the road between the Riverstown Bar and Monkey Maze on Sunday 6th April during Storm Kathleen.

JetBlue flight 2220 diverted to Shannon Airport after the crew shut down an engine in flight (following reported compressor stall) on Saturday 30th March. Shannon Airport Fire and Rescue Service were backed up by Clare County Fire and Rescue Service (Shannon & Ennis stations), National Ambulance Service and An Garda Síochána attended the scene. ~Pat Flynn

Kalitta Air flight CKS-844 diverted to Shannon Airport with a fire indication which turned out to be a false alarm. Clare County Fire and Rescue Service (Shannon and Ennis); the National Ambulance Service and An Garda Síochána attended in support of Shannon Airport's Fire and Rescue Service on Thursday 22nd February. ~Pat Flynn
