Leinster Incident Page (RTCs)








RTC involving a truck on the bridge of peace in Drogheada on the 02/01/2012. The scene was attended to by units from Drogheada Fire and Rescue Service, HSE Ambulance Service and Gardai.

Scene of an RTC on the M1 motorway near Drogheda. The accident involving a jeep towing a trailer with another jeep on board lost control and overturned. Two units from Drogheda Fire and Rescue attended the scene.

County Wicklow November 2011






Scene of a single vehicle RTC on the Ballynattin Road South of Arklow on the 21/11/2011. The driver and passenger were unhurt and the road was closed for some time after the accident.

County Wicklow June 2011






Scene of an RTC on the N11 north of Arklow Town in volving a lorry loaded with sand v a single. The driver of the truck was unhurt but the driver of the car had to be cut free from the wreckage of his car before been removed to hospe by members of the fire service from Arklow Town.

Dublin 29/09/2011


Scene of an RTA Blakes Cross, Dublin on the 29/9/11. A Bus Eireann Bus collided with car in the centre of the road leaving the passenger of the car having to be remved by Firefighters to hospital. In attendence were Swords (D131), Phibsboro ET (D35) and Finglas Ambulance (D54).

Scene of an RTC on the 16/09/2011 on Mornington Rd in Drogheda. A bus and a car hit head on. Units of the Fire Service from Drogheda,Ambulance and Gardai attended the scene.

Scene of an RTC in Beaulieu near Droghea on the 12/09/2011. Units from Droghea Fire and Rescue Service as well as Ambulance and Gardai attended the scene.


Dublin 25/08/2011






Scene of a serious RTA in Portmarnock, Dublin in which a family car left the road crashing down an embankment approx. 20-30 feet. 1 woman & 6 children where taken to hospital with their injuries. In attendance where Kilbarrack & Phibsboro Fire Stations, DFB Ambulance, ERAS Ambulance, Gardai, Howth Coastguard & Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue 116

Scene of a 2 vehicle RTC on Fri 19th August at Hamlet Lane and Drogheda Street in Balbriggan @ about 5:00pm


County Meath 18/05/2011








An articulated truck rolled onto its side at the Rath roundabout (Marriott) on the north end of the Ashbourne bypass on the 18/5/11. Driver was consious, extricated by removing the window and taken by ambulance to hospital. The incident lasted for 6 hours

Multi Vehicle pile up on the M7 near Portlaoise on 03/03/2011. Up to 20 cars and trucks were involved in this RTC in thick fog. the Driver of the truck pictured above had to be cut free by Firefighters.

Scene of a two car RTC near Athlone town in Co Westmeath. The scene was attended by the Fire Service from Athlone, HSE Ambulance Service and the Gardai. One woman had to be cut free from one of the cars.


Dublin July 2010





The scene of a two car RTC on the Ballyfermot Rd at the junction of Cliften Rd. Two units of the Dublin Fire Brigade and two Ambulances attended the scene. All injured parties were taken by Ambulance to St James Hosiptal.
